During these challenging times, it is critical to realize that self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential.  If our goal is not just to survive but to thrive, we must learn how to take care of ourselves better.  This is the most generous thing we can do, not only for ourselves, but for everyone else.  When we feel exhausted and depleted, we have nothing to give.  When our needs are met and we feel well, not only do we enhance the quality of our own lives, we are also in a much better position to offer our resources out to others.  Now, more than ever, the world needs each and every one of us to show up and offer something, anything we have to give, to make this world a safer, healthier and kinder place to live.

Since we can’t go out, let’s go in...

During this webinar, Dr. Shari Becker will present a comprehensive model of self-care that takes us beyond the basics of food, exercise and sleep into the internal processes associated with taking care of our whole selves, including our physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and relational functioning.  Shari will discuss how to identify and strengthen various “internal muscles” that support us in developing an effective, life-enhancing system of self-care.

In this talk, we will explore:

Foundations of self-care

Daily self-care practices

Mental attitudes associated with well-being

Emotional aspects of self-care

“Internal muscle” systems supporting self-care
